Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole

This recipe, honestly, is probably the same one on the side of the French’s fried onions container, but nevertheless, it is one of my grandma’s favourites for big family meals. She is the first person that I made it with, and she hand wrote the recipe for my brother, cousins and myself for Christmas one year – that’s how you know it’s extra good.

Original Recipe: French’s Fried Onion package (and Elly’s grandma)

First Tried: 2014

Ingredients

  • 175 mL milk
  • 1 can “cream of” soup (mushroom, broccoli, etc.)
  • 500 g frozen green beans, thawed
  • 79 g French’s fried onions

Instructions

  1. In a casserole pan, mix all ingredients except 1/2 of fried onions. Bake at 350 F for about 30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  2. Stir well in pan and top with remaining fried onions. Bake 10-20 more minutes, until the top (and onions) are crispy and brown.

Notes

This recipe is probably still on the French’s fried onion package container, but it is also one of Elly’s grandma’s favourites and came as a Christmas recipe.
